unhappy with return policy

the item was not what i expected The return process was not what was stated. i took the item back to the store in a box i had. it couldn't be completely closed. but i that it would be ok cause it stated didn't need to be packaged . But when i got to the return counter, the clerk stated i had to purschse a box because it needed to be completely packed close. i feel your online return policy needs to state that. not that you can return the item unpackaged
