Separation anxiety is universal and most children go through this stage. We, as parents, can support our children when they experience these challenging emotions. For a young child the combination of visual engagement as well as repetition helps tremendously to understand what is happening - this is why children's books can be so valuable to a parent. With understanding children also find the peace they need to go over this stage as quickly and as smoothly as possible.

This is why I wrote this book. I watched both of my sons struggle with separation anxiety and it was that repetition and reassurance that helped them tremendously. It was magical when my oldest son told his little brother "Don't worry - mom always comes back', years after I had told him that same thing.
