Holy #&@%. This carpet is everything. Super soft - absolutely no need for a carpet pad unless you want to bounce across your floor. The quality of the carpet overall is insanely good, and even more amazing for the price. This is a tufted carpet, but the tufts are short, plentiful, and tight, making this both a delight to walk on and perfect for our family pets. The backing is thick and bound by fabric, unlike the thin plastic coating on many cheaper quality carpets/rugs. The whole rug is so weighty (with its tufts and backing combined) that it stays put on the floor (unlike other cheaper rugs that would glide away with the slightest movement of a chair). Our household has two adults and three active pets, and everyone loves this rug.
