The LEC series is best read in order as some stories extend over more than one volume, and the characters evolve.
Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.
They're in each other all along.
Rumi Searching for people traffickers and rescuing young women seems to create quite a bond between Sargenta Carmen of the Guardia and Jorge, who we now know as Gheorghe Petrescu, a retired drug-dealer and ex-employee of the Romanian gangster Doru. In spite of mutual attraction, they've got their brakes on. Propinquity, no thanks. Fellow investigators only. Good woman/bad man, can't be done, never heard of it. In a word - impossible.
But Fate won't let up, and they are off once again to rescue Jesús this time and Gheorghe's friend Tomás who are being held hostage by Doru's men.
Still no possibility of Romance. None. Well, maybe just one dance and a glass of wine. But that's all. Until... Jesús the Healer reads the Energy and the strong attraction between Carmen and the Gheorghe. Jesús is well fired up by his Enlightenment experience, helping Ioana, the young Romanian woman to heal following her horrendous experiences. Simultaneously, Jesús is healed of his anxiety, fear and hallucinations involving his deceased fiancée. So when Jesús sees the Energy flashing between these two Souls, he encourages them to commit, and channels Energy to them in a new form he was inspired to invent. And so begins a rocky relationship.
Gheorghe is soon off to Bucharest to look for evidence against his ex-employer, Doru, in connection with his various activities, including kidnapping, raping and forcing girls and women into prostitution, not to mention drugs, extortion, money-laundering et cetera. (Isn't it amazing all that crims get up to, yet there's seldom any or adequate evidence?)
Meanwhile, Juan in Love Energy Central is trying to find a way to bring Simon to accept Spirit in place of his obsession with revenge. His mind turns to language and how humanity is led astray thanks to our ability to be economical with the truth. Bring back telepathy. Can you tell an intentional telepathic lie?
I could never tell a lie that anybody would doubt,
nor a truth that anybody would believe.
Mark Twain We follow Gheorghe's experiences and investigations in Bucharest. Then Jesús gets a message from the Universe to go to Bucharest and start a 'Love riot'. He joins up with Gheorghe and before they know it they are part of the 'Four Musketeers', saving the world while being sought by hardcore gangsters. The Love Riot is a blessing for many but a little too successful for others, as you will see.
