YARDMAX YW7565 Chipper/Shredder, Briggs & Stratton Engine

I was very impressed when the chipper arrived. It was packaged very well. It was very easy to assemble. The chipper is built like a tank. Ran the unit six hours only stopping to fuel. It did an amazing job. It transformed a huge brush pile to a pick up load of mulch. I would highly recommend this chipper.

I did a considerable amount of research on wood chippers and decided on the Yardmax for several reasons, namely the self-feed capability and the capacity. Although the price point was slightly higher than some of the low-boy units, I have to say that the additional cost is worth it. This unit has a heavy disc with 2 easily removable blades. The engagement handle allows easy starting of the motor, and the belt system adds the future ability to easily replace the engine without tearing the whole unit up. This chipper easily handles brush and limbs up to 2". You can push 3" through, and possibly 4" soft limbs if you take your time. The blades must be sharp to handle anything over 2.5". I like the grease ports on the bearing assembly, they are easy to access. The shipping was very fast, 6 days. I believe that the next step up in performance would be a drum type unit which would have a price point of around $1300, placing this chipper in a class of it's own.
