Excerpt from Reminiscences Biographical and Historical
Friends have requested a number of items connected with the early history of the Disciples in Texas and with addran College and its founders. Soon after brother's death a number called for his biography, which would have been written by one more competent, but, for kindly considerations, the task was left for me; that is why it was never done. I thought to furnish a series of sketches that would partially answer all these de mands. I decided that a few months would give suf ficient time in which to compile material that would furnish some future historian, who had more time and means than I have, the data for a more exacting history; but the months passed into years and the work not done.
