Doesn't count most steps and not for the ankle

It claims to be for the ankle, but it barely reaches around the ankle with stretching the strap. On the ankle I shopped for an hour and it registered 1 single step. On my wrist I ran for about 3 miles which would be about 7000 steps. It registered 1095 steps.
