For two, fourth generation Australians in the early 1970's, the only vision of Korea they had was from recalling newspaper articles about the Korean War in the 1950's, when many Australians died of the cold as well as the war. That image of Korea was imprinted on their mind, and it was the last place in the world the wife wanted to go to. However, they had just been offered an opportunity to go and work there as lay missionaries.
