We chose to do that by educating them about African Americans' contributions to our daily lives. Black American Inventors is the first publication in the series. Not a Happy Bee After Purchasing This!
It is more of an informational biography on various Black American inventors. I only found one picture of an inventor that I would consider decent. There were other poor drawings in the book of some of the inventions. Not at all what I had hoped for - I wanted a biographical sketch with a nice, detailed picture of the Black inventor for my students to color. I am returning to Walmart tomorrow. Would not recommend especially for lower elementary. I would give 1 star but the information is decent, therefore I've given it 2 stars.
