Next Gen Server Motherboard (works with Legacy)

This Server Motherboard accommodated my Next Gen Technology - CPU, Memory, Graphics Card, along with my legacy SCSI Adaptec Raid Controller. Most importantly, with the help of ASUS excellent technical support, I was able to get Windows 11, 64 Bit home built system up and running.

Upgrading to WS C246 PRO for Windows 11

The WS C246 Pro was selected as an upgrade from the P10S WS because it is supported by Windows 11. The old system had a 0.5 TB Sata SSD that was replaced with 1 TB M.2 SSD. The physical transition to the new board was fairly painless. I was concerned about the wire connections. I was pleasantly surprised that the only thing necessary was locating the same respective connection space. No header changes were necessary. Windows 10 is still running to help confirm that the translation was correct. Configuring and connecting the Mirrored RAID was easier than expected. Prior to doing anything, it was necessary to flash the BIOS so that the i7-9500K would be accepted. That was done prior to any hardware changed using a spare power supply and the USB connector. That went flawlessly. My biggest challenge was connecting the two fans used to cool the CPU. The space is a bit tight. Having done this, if I had to do it again, would I? Yes. This is from a person that has been around for 80 years.
