Spinning limits range of applications

I bought an elbow, a female connector, and a male connector to replace a tub stubout that had disconnected at the solder joint in the wall. All went well with the SharkBite connectors until I tried to screw on the faucet. Because the copper tubing can spin there was no way to tighten the faucet. I now have to replace two of the connectors with others that do not spin. I am not looking forward to removing the sharkbit connectors--they are very difficult to remove even with the removal tool, and with their location in the wall it is very difficult to get the appropriate leverage on the tool. SharkBite needs to a better job warning people about applications. They tout the spinning as a feature, which it certainly can be in some applications--but in other applications it renders these connectors useless. On the positive side the connectors did not leak at all and I will use them in the future when I can.

reply from Supplier Response

Good morning, We are sorry to hear our spinning feature hindered your project more than it helped. For applications that require screwing or tightening male or female connectors in tight areas, we recommend connecting the thread side first, then pushing the pipe into the SharkBite Push-To-Connect side. Our intent is never to make the fitting hard to remove or too difficult. We want the removal process to be easy but we first want to guarantee these fittings won't come off. You may have an easier time removing these fittings with our disconnect tongs (link here: http://www.sharkbite.com/product/disconnect-tongs/). Again we are sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced and will let engineering know of these issues. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with this feedback.

Installed as instructed, leaked everywhere

I cleaned my copper pipes the way the instructions pictured, marked the fitting, and water spewed out of the fitting like it wasn't even there.
