Firefly Pre-Waxed Paraffin, Natural Cotton-Core Wicks have the rigidity of Zinc without the metal wire. As they burn, the specially treated core is completely consumed by the flame.

Natural Cotton-Core Candles are the perfect replacement for Zinc Core Wicks and HTP Wicks. They do not contain any lead, zinc, or other metals, and are made from 100% plant-based fibers, mostly cotton.

Firefly Rigid Core Wicks are ideal for professionals and amateurs alike. The Rigid Core makes manufacturing much easier because of the stability of the Wick. Each Wick also has a 20mm round tab crimped on the bottom to add even more stability and working ease. The Paraffin Wax used to pre-wax each Wick has a higher melting point than regular candle wax. The candle maker is safe to between 190° and 200°F.

Use these Waxed Candle Wicks for your candle making in LARGE-SIZED (see sizing chart image or details below) Glass, Ceramic, and Metal Container/Jar candles. Cut the Wicks to length using sharp scissors.They are not suitable for Pillar Candles or Taper Candles.

SIZE MEDIUM: These Candle Wicks are designed to match a LARGE inner diameter of a container based on the type of wax you are using. Here is a list of wax types and their matching inside diameters:
Paraffin Wax: 3-1/2" to 3-3/4"
Soy Wax: 3" to 3-1/4"
Soy/Paraffin Blend: 3-1/4" to 3-1/2"
Coconut Wax: 3" to 3-1/4"
Beeswax: 2-1/2" to 2-3/4"
SPECIFICATIONS: The Wick is 6" Long, and made from 100% cellulosic plant-based fibers, mostly cotton. Each Wick is crimped with a 20mm (about 3/4") round tab. Cut the Wicks to a shorter length to suit your specific needs using sharp scissors.
INCLUDED: Each box contains 100 Wicks, each with a crimped round tab.
SIZING INFO: If your wick is PERFECTLY-SIZED for your container diameter and wax combination, you should get a melt pool that extends to the edge of the container that is approximately 1/2" deep. The flame will burn consistently without flicker and there will be no carbon build up.

If your wick is TOO SMALL (under wicked), the wax will melt unevenly, not extending to the edge of the container. It will "tunnel" and eventually extinguish itself before all the wax has burned.

If your wick is TOO LARGE (over wicked), the flame will be too tall and will flicker. There will be carbon build up producing what is called "mushrooming". There will be puffs of smoke. Soot can build up inside the candle and the container may get extremely hot and could possibly break.
