Pacifica Island Art uses an environmentally-friendly Unryu Japanese rice paper made by the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Unryu, which translates to 'cloud dragon paper' in Japanese, features long strands of kozo fiber and is made from natural mulberry and hemp fibers using traditional Japanese Washi techniques - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Leopoldo Metlicovitz - Leopoldo Metlicovitz (1869-1944) Metlicovitz became a painter and portraitist without any formal training. He came to Milan in 1891 and joined the Ricordi Printing house, quickly becoming it's technical director. He developed an original approach to light and shadow and became one of Italy's greatest Poster artists creating some of the most famous 'Mele' designs among others- a true Master.
