Pacifica Island Art uses an environmentally-friendly Unryu Japanese rice paper made by the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Unryu, which translates to 'cloud dragon paper' in Japanese, features long strands of kozo fiber and is made from natural mulberry and hemp fibers using traditional Japanese Washi techniques - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Percy Angelo Staynes - Percy Angelo Staynes (1875-1953) Percy Angelo Staynes was born in England in 1875. He studied at the Manchester School of Art, the Royal College of Art, and the Acade'mie Julian in Paris. He established himself in London as an oil and watercolor painter, as well as an illustrator and designer. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. During the Second World War, Staynes designed posters for the British campaign against the German U-boats. He died in London in April 1953.
