Finally a solution!

These worked great. My clay soil here in Texas was dry and hard as concrete. I ordered these and most if them went in without a problem. My installer helper said 2 broke, but we poured water on the soil and then were able to get new ones in the ground. I was concerned about the metal landscape staples sticking up high enough to cause me to trip and fall, these spikes are pretty much flush to the artificial turf we installed. Very pleased with the overall look now.
