One of seven children, she grew up in a lively artistic environment. From an early age Shelley had a keen interest in art, influenced by the European ceramics and paintings that graced the walls of the family home. Shelley studied art at school and began to experiment with design and screen-printing. She went onto University and completed her Arts degree with a Major in Linguistics.
