The shade pieces are made of glass, but they are not too heavy. I think it would look beautiful either with white or off white color bulbs. This light suggests 4 - 60 watts bulbs. It's very well packed and the instructions are simple and easy to follow. I can't wait to install and see how beautiful it is. Thanks Influenster and Padilla campaign this beautiful semi flush light.
