Have "many other aloe vera gels before - including straight from the plant. This one seems to be the best I've had. Had a large and painful skin condition that I couldn't get rid of and this gel really helped soothe and heal it. Also, I use castor oil sometimes and it often requires a carrier oil and while this aloe vera is a "gel" it has just the right texture and viscosity to act as a great carrier oil. Have found other general uses for it. Don't know if this company's other formulations work as well, but I'm happy with this one and will stick with it. Note: they have other formulations; this one says "healing" on bottle.
