These have an elastic sock construction which needs a shoe horn to get on. They are a better fit than my last merrells for my narrow feet. My only complaint is that the edge lugs are too aggressive and get caught on steps, carpet and car pedals while driving. They appeared more rounded in the picture. I will be grinding them down on the belt sander. lol
