This is an effective way to secure a room from nosy roommates or curious kids. The details are a bit vague, but let me clarify that this lock is designed for interior use only, not for exterior doors. It provides privacy when you're inside the room and need to keep the door locked. Installing and programming it is a breeze - just follow the straightforward instructions. It only took me 3.5 minutes to install and 4 minutes to program. If your door has a latch face plate with rounded corners, you can easily square them off with a knife or chisel. You can store up to 50 fingerprints and 100 passcodes, although I only entered three and it worked fine. The fingerprint reader is not the most advanced, so you need to place your finger on it consistently. In case the batteries run out, you can use a micro-USB port or a key to unlock the door. Pressing the inside button for about two seconds will keep the door open, and pressing it again will lock it. While this lock won't stop a determined attacker like "Jason," it will prevent casual entry. Overall, it's a solid choice for enhancing room security. I rate it 4 stars because it performs as expected compared to similar products on the market.

The fingerprint recognition works efficiently, typically identifying my fingerprint within 3 seconds. I have not encountered any problems with being locked out, but as a precaution, I have hidden a key that I have not needed to use yet. The installation process was relatively straightforward, taking me about 20 minutes to complete everything. I am very pleased with the product!

I purchased this for a friend. I have others like it, and they all function similarly. The installation process was straightforward. The strike plate had some variations, and the door trim required slight adjustments to accommodate the new one. A utility knife was sufficient for this task. It easily cut through the MDF door trim. Once everything was in place, it operated smoothly, and I was able to program a code and thumbprint without any issues. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.
