"Who Am I" is a children's book intended to provide an age-appropriate view of the concept of personal identity.

Generally, society identifies people based on their racial or ethnic background, the communities to which they belong, the places where people were born, their profession, and even their social and marital status. This manner of identifying people puts them under a great deal of pressure to meet the expectations associated with the identity that society creates for them.

What people forget is that their real identity is their true authentic self, which is as unique as each human being. Identifying oneself as an individual free of attachment to any label allows people to relieve themselves of any expectations and societal pressure. In addition, it enables them to find their path in life and achieve their dreams without feeling that they have the obligation to subdue themselves to any external influence.

If this philosophy is taught to children early in life, they will learn to be more connected to their own self and their personal identity, to make the right choices for themselves without giving in to external pressure, to respect others regardless of who they are, and most of all, to love one another unconditionally.
