this product is very fresh and live ... i like using NOW products and this is no exception ... as well as taking this for my gut i really like that cayenne is so great for the cardiovasular system ... i had a heart attack in 2012 so i know this is another back up for that issue. i do want to say this too ... i love the cayenne in this bottle is so vibrant red it looks so alive ... over the years i have purchase cayenne in many forms but this one far outweighs the others, jmo
