When I received the box in the mail, I was very skeptical as to whether the seat cushions were as described on the vendor's website. The seat cushions are a Christmas present for my parents who have wooden kitchen chairs. I was relieved when they opened the individual packages in which the seat cushions were packaged, they expanded to the thickness as described. The cushions are packaged in vacuum sealed clear plastic bags, so upon opening them, the cushions expanded to 3-4" thickness. Also, a very nice feature is how there are zippers around each seat cushion so that the outer fabric can be removed and laundered.
