this is actually pretty hydrating for a 2 in 1, and a dandruff 2 in 1 at that. I mean it's nothing to write home about in terms of conditioning but it helps the dandruff and doesn't dry out your hair more. its good for in a rush but if your hair is damaged or super dry it's a good option to get this in addition to a conditioner for a little extra hydration

I have used the name brand and the Walmart brand and I can't tell the least bit of difference. I thought I had dandruff but the person who cuts my hair told me that I just had dry scalp and she recommended that I just try the dry scalp formula shampoo. So I did and it works great it keeps my head from edging and they're absolutely no type of flakes whatsoever. Of course I started with the name brand because I wanted to make sure that it was going to take care of the itching problem. It did but it was kind of pricey so I decided to give the equate brand a try. I couldn't even tell that I had changed brands! So it does the job at a great price! I highly recommend it.
