It is recommended to use a rug pad underneath, although heavy rugs do not slip due to weight. Most cotton rugs are handmade in different lots; thus, there might be some variance in color, size or design. Also, rugs are folded after manufacturing for shipping, and many times the crease or fold line is very visible but will settle after some period of usage.
