This print will look wonderful framed in the home, office or restaurant and is perfect for the Vintage Art Collector. - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Gerold Hunziker - Gerold Hunziker (1894-1980) graduated from the grammar school in Aarau and was then with Ernst Würtenberger at the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich in 1914-1915. From Zurich he moved with his twin brother Werner Hunziker to Geneva, where he studied from 1916-18 at the École des Beaux-Arts; He then settled in Paris for many years. From 1919 - 1921 he worked at the Académie Colarossi and at the Grande Chaumière studies with Lucien Simon, Bernard Naudin. He began to study Cubism and got into the studio of André Lhôte, after which he worked as a freelance artist until 1933. During this time he visited London, Florence, Rome, etc. A journey through northern Italy opened the art of the Italian muralists. Berlin and Belgium opened Rubens' works. He worked a lot with his twin brother Werner Hunziker. Both brothers managed to quickly make a name for themselves, both in their homeland and in Paris. They were even awarded a gold medal for a set design 'Orpheus' in Paris in 1925. Until 1944 he lived in Zurich and until 1968 again in Aarau. He was a teacher of arts and crafts drawing at the trade school. From 1944 to 1960 he headed the decorative department of the Bally shoe factory in Schönenwerd. From 1968 to 76 he lived in Lostorf and then until his death in Aarau. He created many advertising posters all along, but also found time for commissioned projects such as a poster for the Olympic Games and the now famous Bugatti poster from 1932. He is the son of Hermann Hunziker, father of the musician, composer and painter Dominique Hunziker and Grandfather of Nicolas Hunziker .
