Pacifica Island Art uses an environmentally-friendly Unryu Japanese rice paper made by the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Unryu, which translates to 'cloud dragon paper' in Japanese, features long strands of kozo fiber and is made from natural mulberry and hemp fibers using traditional Japanese Washi techniques - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Leslie Ragan - Born 1897 Woodbine, Iowa - Died 1972 Portland, Oregon: Ragan was a specialty illustrator who was well known for his paintings of machines moving fast through landscapes (especially trains). Born in Iowa, Ragan went to the Cumming School of Art in Des Moines and then to the Art Institute in Chicago before joining the Office of War Information (OWI).
