This is a very practical household gadget. I bought this machine specifically to accelerate drying my rubber Dunlop boots that I use for gardening and mowing the lawn. Normally, it is a three day affair to thoroughly dry out my boots. This boot dryer will whittle drying time down to mere hours. At first, I wasn't sure if the protruding rods were long enough to accommodate my mid-calf boots, but I soon discovered that the drying rods are fully expandable, and I was able to expand a 7 inch height to 12 inches. The retracting mechanism was not as snappy as I hoped (required some finagling), but both rods retracted with some gentle maneuvering. The dryer works by pumping heated air out through the end of the rods and into the interior of your boots, shoes, or gloves. I found the timer generous enough without going a second round. The enclosed manual recommends folding the drying rods parallel to your table when drying heavy boots. You would simply insert your boot opening over the rods and turn on the blowers. Overall, a great device that will make drying wet shoes or boots hassle-free. The rods fold down making storage a breeze, I look forward to washing my boots far more often.
