French artist, was born in 1850 and died at an unknown date; very little is known about his life. His work as an artist first appeared in an exhibition of the Salon des Indépendants in 1872 and 1873. Around 1890 he became a student of Jules Chéret, known as 'the father of the modern poster', where he studied lithographic printing and developed a reputation as an 'affichiste' (poster artist). His work appeared in three issues of 'Les Maitres de l'Affiche', a publication that featured artists of the Art Nouveau movement. He remained active until 1902 after which time nothing is known about him.
