Been using Red Yeast Rice for years, and I've not had any cholesterol problems. After having problems with a prescribed statin drug, these were prescribed by a wholistic practitioner in the same first class clinic. Red Yeast Rice contains statins also, but in this form, they haven't caused me problems. They are available without prescription, but I would suggest a consultation with a physician.
