At the end of the 1980s, a young British talent by the name of Colin McRae began to make a name for himself. For his first steps in the world championship, his home event seemed to refuse him: he crashed at the RAC Rally in 1987. The following year, he was back at the start of the local WRC round, but this time at the wheel of a Peugeot 205! He was well placed, but unfortunately had to retire on SS17 due to a broken engine mount. Nevertheless, a few years later, in 1994, McRae ended up taking a victory on home soil, he is now an official Subaru driver!
