Ice maker worst design

I bought this fridge new, after a few months part of the ice maker cracked off... now it leaks, I have to check it to pull off frozen cubes from the release arm thing. Been doing this for a while now. I still cannot afford a new maker. Wish they had a different design that would fit in this place. I have checked occasionally. I still get ice. I have to pull off ice that is stuck in the maker, it is a pain.
