This bed is beautiful and was easy to assemble. I am 72 and I put it together myself. The reason I chose it was that I needed more storage in a small bedroom. I am able to fit many cardboard file boxes underneath it. I store extra food, winter clothes, and files that I need to keep. I also use plastic totes that are the size of file boxes. all of these things are stored and out-of-the-way. I put a bed skirt around it which covered the line of sight so no one knows that those things are under there unless they stop and bend down and look.
