Item states, " DO NOT TAKE APART DRAIN. See installation instructions for the easy way to install this drain cover." . .which would be nice if any instructions were anywhere to be found. You can figure it out but you must take the plate apart to access holes to install the item with the screws. Plate and outside decorative ring fall off if anything brushes against the drain plate. I could make it work with some glue but that would making its removal later difficult. It lasted long enough for me to make a trip to the hardware store to obtain a real cover. This thing was utter trash where it now resides.
