The Perth Mint Mythical Creatures
In mythology, the basilisk is a frightening beast first described by ancient Romans, notably Lucan the poet, and the natural philosopher Pliny the Elder. Based on their texts, the serpentine-shaped basilisk could slaughter almost all living forms with its deadly venom, horrendous breath or even its lethal gaze.
