I'm an uncompromising fan of percale cotton sheets. They are not soft, and the trick to keeping wrinkles bearable without ironing is to fold while they are still hot from the dryer. The one thing that percale does not do that other blended sheets do is feel like a mushy mess after two days. The sheets breathe while retaining my body heat, and I can't say enough good things. Just don't expect soft sheets, they do feel rough and keep you dry!
