There was no need for caulk or sealant although I did duct tape mine because my moose of a dog seems to pull anything in the yard he touches apart including the drainspout but this he just steps around. The quality is excellent, delivery was fast, the ease of connecting 2 together was a snap-and I'm a 78y.o. disabled female. There is no more rain causing the downspout to fall of in heavy rain and no mud right in front of my apartment. The manager even likes it. I would recommend that if you have a dip under the downspout/extension area to make it level to be extra sure there isn't a backwash. It's amazing how happy a simple extension has made my life so much easier and the rugs cleaner.

these down spout extensions are perfect help to direct rain water where we want and replace the old worn out aluminum spouts we had. could not expect a better product, thanks Walmart and company who made them.
