Actuator was direct replacement.

OEM actuator would stop working for a few hours or days every time I washed the car as water would enter the actuator through its visible plunger. When I installed the new actuator, I coated the new actuator plunger with silicon grease to prevent/reduce water from entering the switch. Coating the OEM actuator plunger with grease might have worked, but I already purchased the replacement, so I installed it.
