Tom's Of Maine Antiplaque Flat Floss Spearmint, 32.0 YARDS

This is my first time to try this brand of dental floss. I currently use a waxed floss, and I was curious about how effective this product was. Also the use of the word "Antiplaque" prominently displayed on their packaging piqued my curiosity. I tried this product after eating popcorn which can strand lots of kernel husks in your teeth. This product seemed to grab the husks in the wax coating and remove them without irritating my gums. I tried it again after eating steak which also has a tendency to leave strings of meat in my teeth. Again it grabbed the strings of meat with the waxed filament. It did not fray, break or cut into my gums. Also the spearmint flavor was refreshing. Additionally, on the packaging, it differentiates itself from other products by explaining its claim to be natural and gentle on your teeth and gums. I will buy this brand in the future. To me, it is a no-brainer!

Tom's of Maine Naturally Waxed Antiplaque Flat Floss is just another quality product from this brand. My family has tried and used Tom's of Maine toothpastes, baby lotion, and mouthwash. All have been quality products. I usually purchase floss at Walmart and have never noticed the Tom's of Maine floss in the section. This may be partly do to the fact that I'm never really sure which floss to buy. I know the cheapest floss is going to break too easy and I'm never sure if the more expensive floss will be worth the extra money. Like the other Tom's of Maine products I have tried, it is worth a bit more to enjoy the quality of the product. This floss is no exception. I took the floss out of the nice cardboard packaging and was able to easily flip the lid to access the floss. I could tell right away that this floss was strong and durable. I slid it over the blade to release enough floss to begin giving it a try. The floss cut easily without any shedding or harsh tugging needed. I wrapped both ends around my fingers and began. I started at my far back teeth since they are closely set and will usually always break or shred the floss requiring me to toss the first string and get a new piece to do the other side of my mouth. I was pleasantly surprised that the woven nylon filaments are very strong and I was able to complete all my teeth without having to get a new string of floss. Of course, my money saving mind clicked in and I thought this could be good only using one string of floss each time and not two with other brands that shred and break. This is good news since I much prefer to buy a floss that offers no synthetic waxes, artificial sweeteners or preservatives and no artificial color or flavor. Other features I like are the very light spearmint flavor, the see-through container to let you know when it's time to buy more, and the thin flat surface that slides gently in-between the teeth. Definitely, my new go-to floss option.
