Worth the extra money.

The reason I spent more on these is that the stretcher bars/bracers are further back and I have a style that involves a lot of pushing (I go through brushes like you wouldn't believe). The 1 1/2 inch thick canvases didn't cut it, and most canvases in general do the same thing. I would see the bars as I would paint because I would push on the canvas and the bars would show through ruining my art. Nothing ruins art like vertical and horizontal lines. Even though this was more money, it wasn't too much more. If it was, I would have just bought larger pieces, painted inside where the stretchers lie (about 1.5 inches inside the edge), removed the stretcher, and avoided the problem completely. I have not used these yet, but the images online look good. Even the stretchers are triangle shaped, which I find useful.
