I got the box today and all three of the kids were so excited to open it that it became a good incentive to get things done. LOL Once they opened it, they were surprised at the feel and how much actually came with the box.
The feel is not sticky like you would think, but dry with flexible rubber spikes and a firm middle. The ball in which you attach the buncems is the size of a tennis ball with a soft material in which the bunchems easily stick to.
There is a red on/off switch on the bottom of the ball it takes 3 triple A batteries which do not come with the product.
They boys immediately went to work to make as many things as they could. They didn't follow the suggestions of things they could make, but instead used their own ideas.
After about 20 minutes, they each had finally completed a character in which they were satisfied. Once they had "show and tell" about them, they were quick to tear them apart, trade pieces and make more items. They made people, trees, boxes, cookie monster, cars, and anything else they could come up with.
The fun part was turning the ball on and watching him wiggle all over. It was almost a fight to see who would turn it on next. Some of the bunchems fell off when we turned it on, but it held its form pretty well.
This toy comes with a suggested age of 4 and older but I would be concerned about the small pieces and the temptation young children get to chew on things. I will say once you pass the age of gnawing on things, it is a lot of fun and even the adults had a turn!
Two of the boys are older (14 and 16) who are on the autism spectrum and kept them occupied for quite some time. They enjoyed discovering all of the things they could do with it and it was busy work with their hands.
One con was they wanted more colors such as red, orange and yellow.
All in all, I would recommend this product to anyone who likes to build things and use their imagination! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
