Shark - Rotator Pet Lift-Away ADV Upright Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins HairPro and Odor Neutralizer Technology

I purchased this vacuum a few days ago to replace my Shark Pet Pro Cordless. I had that vacuum for over 6 years and it finally gave out. The Shark Rotator Pet Lift-Away was a nice upgrade from what I had. This vacuum's suction power is incredible and being able to detach it for steps/harder to reach areas is extremely convenient. One run over my rugs and carpet and I feel like it pulled years of dust, danger and lint. I would highly recommend this vacuum especially if you have pets. Pet hair and dander doesn't stand a chance against this vacuum. It is very easy to empty, detach/reattach and very lightweight for the size. The scent pod really works and makes the entire house smell lovely. 10/10 for value, efficiency, power, design, and reliability. I have used Shark products for years and am a lifelong customer. I love this vacuum, Its the first one i've bought as per a recommendation of an experienced in ‘how to lifeing' friend who's opinion is always trustworthy. I will walk you through my review as I thought about it from opening the box. It came very well packaged and safe, everything was in its place. The scent pod bag was in a piece of cardboard in a silver sealed package so id keep an eye out for it so it doesn't get missed. The assembly was exceptionally easy, everything literally ‘click'ing into place according to the owners manual's instructions. In use it was great! It did an excellent job pulling a whole lot of junk out of my carpet. I was appalled at what came out but very glad that the vacuum got it out. My allergies I think have been a bit better since. My one critique, you can take out the soft roller to clean it but you cant take out the big roller to get the hair off of it and I wish I could. Now that being said in the owners manual it states to just keep vacuuming when hair gets wrapped around the big roller and it will eventually get knocked off. I am someone with long hair so I wasnt super confident in the vacuums ability to get the hair off of itself. My first use I detached and turned the vacuum foot over to cut the hair off the roller then sucked it up with the hose. My second use I let it keep going and I guess it worked because I didn't notice any hair wrapped around the roller. So take that however you will. I love that the whole vacuum stick can be turned into a handle, its very convenient for dusting, getting your ceiling fans (which the dusting attachment worked great for, the angle was a little difficult but otherwise great), and for reaching around and getting into the corners of things. Ive yet to use the short handle but I'm sure it will be just as well as the long one. The max fill line is a little hard to see and I didnt notice it till my friend pointed it out to me (the vacuum will get hotish if you go over that and not suck as well so be mindful) The lift away function that you can remove the vacuum chamber from the foot and walk off with it to use the hose is great. I really liked that. It also released with a step button so you dont have to bend down to do it youd just step on the lever as if you were going to press down the foot on a typical vacuum. The foot releases easily you've just got to hold it with your foot and lean the handle back. I love how easy it is to empty just walk away and unclick the hatch into the trashcan and poof! Read to go again. I will warn there will be a bit of a dust cloud if you do it aggressively so probably get it as far into the trashcan as you can before pressing the latch. A bit of dust may stick around the lid after youve emptied it but a quick wipe down with a dry paper towel works well (moist doesn't work as good). I like the sponge filters and HEPA filter. The sponge filter is easy enough to wash but give it a good rinse. And make sure you let it dry out all the way as per the manual, it really does take a day or so to dry out all the way. The sponge filter is easy to reinsert after it is dry and everything clicks together again. And the scent pod is nice. Its a good pleasant smell, you can pick it up pretty well even on the lowest setting if you are sensitive to smell like me. The owners manual is thorough and helpful. The included attachments can also all fit on the vacuum itself to store so you don't have to worry about hunting them down later they are all right there And a plus or two I wasn't expecting 1. It practically pulls itself across the carpet 2. It swivels REALLY well and flattens to the floor if need be 3. I want to say its lighter than any other vacuum I've used So was it worth the price? All in all a great vacuum, I think it was definitely worth it to get it on the Black Friday sale price to try it for myself and then the later higher sale price to purchase it again for someone else. Just for my personal preference and comfort I would've been a bit nervous and couldn't totally justify a full price purchase to myself if I hadn't ever tried one and didn't know if id like it. If it came down to it I think I would be willing but just a touch hesitant to purchase it at full price. As mentioned above, I also bought one for someone in my life who struggles to get around. They also found it light enough to use and get around with after ‘demo'ing mine, so if you have difficulty with the weight of a typical vacuum this one may be for you but of course look for the specifications to make sure the actual weight is something you can handle. A good housewarming/wedding gift. I am excited to see how long it lasts and if the strength of the suction goes down over time even if kept up according to the manual. At which time I will try to come back and update this review. They also gave me a 5 year limited warranty so I expect it to work until at least then.
