Viking Security Safe VS-50BLX Large Biometric Keypad Safe

Great product just wish keypad and display showed up better in dark. Great safe for this price point.

Just the facts.... Received the safe quickly and well packaged. Unpacked... Powered up. Tried all ten fingers would only register two, (my cheap phone will easily register any of my fingers). Tried all kinds of different positions and pressures. Of those two fingers, the safe will only open once in a while.... completely unreliable. The keys and surrounding housing are all dark in color and tend to blend together. Keypad buttons are very small, (12 buttons fit in a 1 5/8" x 1 1/8" area), and neither the buttons nor the LCD display are lighted so you must have a bright light nearby or use a flashlight to use the keypad. The "chirp" from keypad is very low and cheap sounding. NOW... The keypad does work well and opens the lock quickly. The outside of safe is dark crinkled finish. There is a nice thin gap around the door. The hidden hinges and two live bolts seem hold the door closed very securely. The key is four blade key and only goes in one way. The key lock seems like it is very secure. Carpet on inside and shelves is well glued in. Plastic shelf clips provide support for the 3 adjustable shelves. Safe comes with heavy concrete anchors, (and possibly wood studs although Lag Bolts would be better), for mounting through the provided holes in back. Holes are covered by carpet if you don't use holes. In my opinion... a larger backlit LCD screen and standard lighted keypad would do wonders for this safe.
