To grow a Loquat Tree from seed, start by soaking the seeds in warm water for 24 hours to soften the outer shell and encourage germination. Plant the seeds 1/2 inch deep in nutrient-rich, well-draining soil, either in pots or directly into the garden in a sunny location. Loquats prefer warm climates but can tolerate light frost. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Germination can take 2-4 weeks, so be patient. Once the seedlings are established, transplant them into their permanent location, spacing the trees 10-15 feet apart to allow for full growth. The tree will begin bearing fruit within 3-5 years.

  • More Detailed Information:

The Loquat Tree is highly adaptable and can be grown in a variety of soils, including sandy or loamy soils. It is fairly drought-tolerant once established but produces better yields when watered regularly. The fruits ripen in the spring and can be eaten fresh, dried, or made into preserves and liqueurs. Loquat trees are also grown for their ornamental value, with their attractive foliage and fragrant flowers making them a popular choice for landscape gardening. While they thrive in warm climates, they can tolerate light frost and occasional cold snaps, making them versatile for different growing zones.

Didn't sprout bad seeds

Received 3 very small seeds, typically loquat seeds are larger than this. None of these were viable. they did not sprout I followed the instructions to the letter but no luck. Loquat seeds should be plump and larger these were runts and possibly very old.
