Admire this rare strand of old Venetian Flower Trade Beads from Ethiopia. These beads might be called cousins to the more common white heart beads that are found in various parts of Africa. Each bead was individually made by a master artisan by wrapping a layer of semi-translucent glass around a white core. The surface of each bead was subsequently painted with a delicate floral motif. Beads such as these are exceedingly hard to find. Beads will show some signs of age and some beads may be cracked or chipped. Each strand is unique and may vary slightly from photo.
