The Soul of Nature series is set in our universe but from the perspective of animals. The second book (The Poisonous Claw) is from the perspective of a cougar kitten named Whiskers. He and his friends raised an orphaned bush deer to become a strong buck. Unfortunately, Ravine, Whiskers' friend, got poisoned from the poisonous claw. They went on a perilous quest and came back to find the cougars and lynxes at peace. It didn't last long and a war began shortly. Whiskers and his friends had no choice but to leave and push forward to Alaska in hope of the former commander of the cougar resistance will take care of the battle.
