Keep fresh water available for animals all winter long. The de-icer is designed to be used as a submersible de-icer only, it does not include a float attachment. A free cord safety clip is included with the Bucket Heater to keep animals away from the cord. Does what it's designed to do
We tried this K&H unit over a different brand that we have used before. The price of this unit was a great selling point as it is $10 cheaper than our prior unit. The unit we replaced wasn't cutting anymore...after 3 winters of use. We live in the mountains of Colorado and it can get mighty cold at night in the winter. So far this unit has done what it is designed to do...keep the water in the 5 gallon bucket from freezing.

i ordered the bucket heater
it was only 250 watts and my electric bill is high I did have the 500 watts but it was still too much electricity. I just wish the 250 floated tho. but it works fine in the temps we have this year of 26, in my vinyl horse water tank. it has plastic around the heater so it doesn't touch the sides of the tank.
