It's a completely different situation than litter with the pellets but it's worth a shot. I have hardwood floors, every morning I'd have to vacuum the entire vicinity of the litter box. The pellets stay in for the most part, maybe have to throw a back in, take out the poop as it happens but just change the pee pad underneath weekly. There's no smell, and so much less clean up.

I was so hesitant to get this, but really love it. We have 4 cats, and we've been using this system for about 4 months now. I started with one large and 2 small, but was having issues with someone going over the side of one of the small ones, so replaced it with a large one. The cats pretty much use the 2 big ones, and hardly ever the small one. I scoop out every 2-3 days, and change the pads every 2-3 days, which is a really easy process. Overall, SO much easier than the scooping the clumping litter, and SO MUCH FASTER. I can do all 3 boxes in the time it used to take to do 1. There are no breaking clumps, and no dust. It has also pretty much eliminated the smell issue! If a pellet gets out, the kittens like to bat it around, since it rolls so much. Stepping on them can hurt, but it is way better than the tracking litter issue we used to have! Only down side to the big ones is they don't really go in the litter hutch because the opening is on the side, while the hutch door is on the end. So, if you want it in a hutch, you have to leave the door open or take it off. Small ones fit in there just fine. Also, the 2 sizes take the same pad, so don't go big thinking you will change less - maybe less scooping, since that part is bigger and has more pellets, but the pad is the same. Switching over was not an issue. We had both types for a while, and the cats started using this one right away, just had to put it in the same spot as the old one. Only other hard part for me is that we are really remote and stores don't carry the product in stock around here. Fortunately, can get them on the internet pretty much next day. The pads with fragrance smell nice, but I don't notice much difference with performance. The multi cat ones have a blue back instead of green, which seems to be a little thicker. So, if you are thinking about it, do it! FASTER and EASIER clean up, LESS SMELL, LESS TRACKING. I am EXTREMELY happy with this product.
