Frigidaire 8K BTU Air Conditioner

Bought this compact window a/c to cool & dehumidify a 1 bedroom apartment over a garage. Several factors went into selecting this unit: 1st, it had to fit in the only available window for an a/c, and this one did by 1/2 inch; 2nd, it had to be able to cool the main room of the apartment AND the adjoining bedroom, which it does very well; 3rd, I wanted the highest efficiency a/c unit for the capacity, and this one fits that requirement as well (12 EER for 8K BTU; and 4th, it had to be reasonably priced AND have a better-than-average star rating, and once again, this one hit both marks. It's only been installed for about 3 weeks as of this writing so I can't comment on it's longevity/reliability. I will say that I bought a very affordable 3-year warranty for it just in case things go south. I'll be very happy if I don't have to use the warranty, but even happier if I have to.

Frigidaire 8,000 BUT A/C Unit

I was glad to see that the dimensions of this unit were listed correctly (as opposed to my previous purchase 3 years ago). Unit works great and I really like the fact that the remote has a thermostat control in it. I can set the remove across the room and when the desired temp is reached, it shuts the unit down per the t-stat. Nice feature and it'll obviously save electricity by shutting down at times.

Love it!

I originally purchased a 6,000 BTU LG unit from another retailer for our master bedroom. I could not believe how loud it was. My 10,000 BTU Haier unit in the family room was quieter. I saw this Frigidaire on Walmart.com and saw mostly good reviews. So glad I picked this exact model, Frigidaire makes more then one 8,000 BTU models. This unit (FFRE0833S1) is very quiet, energy efficient, and blows out ice cold air. The temp sensor in the remote is also a great feature. We keep the remote on the other side of the room and it keeps the temperature more stable than using the temp sensor mounted on the unit itself.
