Excellent Educational Product

If you want to find an entertaining and educational way to teach your kids about composting and why we compost, then you have to check this product out. You can also teach your kids why we try not to have certain products fill our landfill, because they just do not break down. I love the Nancy B products. They are educational and a ton of fun. Best of all, you can do the experiment over and over again. It is not a one time use product like many science kits. I recommend this product for home use and for schools. I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.

Experimenting fun

I received this kit to review but my comments are based only on my experience with this kit. I used this with three 3rd grade boys. They were very excited and enjoyed looking at the kit and book. We were able to brainstorm items that we could put in to make compost. It was decided that we would get fruit from lunch and look for a banana peel and an uncooked vegetable. The soil I purchased and the boys helped to set up the compost kit. It was easy to follow directions. At this time the boys are watching what happens and recording their findings in the compost booklet. We will continue this experiment for a few weeks and see how it all turns out. The only down side is if you want to do this with another group you would not be able to write in the compost booklet. I made copies of the pages that were needed to write on and this has worked the best for my situation. There is more than one option in the book to use. So this could be an ongoing experiment using different items in the compost container. The kit also has a web site to visit that has other experiments from the Nancy B's science club that need only a few materials. The boys have already picked out the next ones they want to try!

great science experiments

I received this to review and really enjoyed seeing how fast different things turned into compost. It was very interesting, sometimes a little gross but the kids loved it and then using the soil to plant flowers this spring is a wonderful idea. It shows kids recycling on a easy level
